Quiet PC - New Site Launch
12th February 2006
The new website I’ve been designing and developing for Quiet PC has been launched.

Quiet PC’s site has evolved gradually since the company was founded in 1999, and was beginning to look quite dated. A re-design was clearly needed to update the site’s appearance and to improve the navigation and page structure.
Quiet PC already have a loyal and satisfied customer base as a result of their efficient and friendly service, but it is expected that the new site will help convert many more visitors into customers. The easy to use, up-to-date looking site projects a much better image and should make new customers feel more confident about placing their first order.
An important aspect of the re-design was to make the site adhere to web standards, ensuring that pages were accurately rendered on numerous platforms. This will also help the site’s ranking on search engines, which will make use of the semantic information in the XHTML to more accurately determine the main subject of each page. This will be particularly useful if traffic to the site can be increased without having to spend more on paid-for keywords.
Server bandwidth has also been addressed: pages on the original site often contained details of numerous products, necessitating a large download to see the details of just one product. The new site contains separate pages for most products, and while they contain more information than before, the bandwidth requirements should not be any greater than the original site.
There has been plenty more work behind the scenes too, in order to provide a platform on which to add new features. These will start to appear during the next months.
So, please take a look at the new site (www.quietpc.com), and buy lots of goodies to make your computer quieter!
